'Threads of Caring' - A history of the Anglican Trust for Women and Children (1858-2020)
The history presented in this book is an attempt to record the deeds and stories of the people who laid the foundations of the Anglican Trust for Women and Children. The project started by commissioning Tapestries in 2016 to complete oral interviews with 18 key individuals.
Co-authors, Ruth Greenaway and Megan Hutching have taken these interviews and archival research and created a high-quality chronicled history. They have also been able to tell a story that blends the changing activities of the Trust and placed them in context with the changing societal attitudes and government policies across three different centuries. The issues and needs remain much the same today as they did 160 years ago.

For Auckland North Community and Development Inc (ANCAD) Ruth interviewed community leaders on Auckland's North Shore in 2014 after ANCAD celebrated its own 40th AGM. A total of 54 stories are documented in this publication.
Ruth’s oral history expertise and my photographic experience was excellent combination for what turned out to be a huge project. Ruth’s enthusiasm for history and community development, her ability to cross-reference and to notice important observations were a winning combination. It was a privilege and a pleasure to work with Ruth on this book and her kindness towards people combined with a love for storytelling shone through. (Yvonne Powely, CEO - ANCAD)
